Swops Table Update

Thank you to all those who thought they would like to take part in this, It will work like this.

Upon registering your arrival at the venue on Friday, hand over to the Spinning Gold Team your five (or less) swops books.
You will receive a ticket for each book.
At the Swops Table event, Saturday night, you can then exchange a ticket for another book...then you can chase up the authors and illustrators to have them sign the book for you.

Anyone can take part in this, just remember to bring five or less of your books and hand them over when you arrive.

Do you want to suggest a textbook for our list?

Hi Spinning Gold Writers,

We are hoping to have a range of HOW TO writing textbooks on sale during the conference.

Everyone will have their own preference...but there might be a few that you would recommend to others.
Don’t bring your precious textbooks but let us know either by email spinning.gold09@gmail.com or in the comments pages on this blog, which books you would like to see available to buy.

John and Ruth McIntyre of The Children’s Bookshop have very kindly said they will get them in for us on a sale or return basis...so if you have always hankered to own Stephen King -On Writing, (Fifi’s personal favourite) Can you let us know by the end of June....Title Name, Author Name ISBN number...any other relevant information...

Thank you everyone,
Spinning Gold Team

Beginning to Spin

Welcome to the Writers page of the Spinning Gold Conference.

As we get closer to the Conference weekend, we will add more content to the page so check back from time to time so you don’t miss any updates.

How can I get the most out of my conference attendance?

We recommend that before you come you make yourself familiar with presenter’s work where you can, especially if you are taking an intensive class.

If you are attending an intensive class begin to prepare your work now there will be an early call for manuscript synopsis submissions.

Organise and Bring business cards.

If you are pitching....Start to prepare now.

When you are there.

Take notes.

Take pictures –bring your camera.

Talk to people when you are there. Make a new friend that you can connect with after the conference. There will be opportunities to network with your peers at different times.

Go to a wide range of workshops, you never know who you might meet that you need to.

Arrange to share notes with someone who is attending a different workshop...so you can get more information out of the conference.

We look forward to seeing you.
